Model too skinny in Gap ad for black skinny pants
For Fall, the Gap has come out with a new line of black skinny pants, and they are promoting it with a series of 6 print ads, and a clever commercial with Audrey Hepburn.
The commercial is cool, and 5 out of the 6 print ads are cool, except for one, and it's this ad with the young lady on the right side wearing the turtleneck and leather jacket. She literally looks like a skeleton doing a zombie pose. The facial expression is dead. And, what is she doing with that bent wrist, counting the seconds until she can bite into a Chimichanga because the photo shoot is finally over, and she's allowed to eat. I realize that the color black is slimming, but this picture is really unhealthy.
In the other ads, which you can see here, the models are thin but at least they look vibrant and somewhat realistic. Audrey Hepburn is a svelte woman as well, but even she looks like she eats food everyday. I love the Gap and shop there, but as a customer, seeing images like this young lady in the leather jacket disturbs me more than entices me to buy.
