Walking skeleton at Guy Laroche fashion show

Captaa0efca57a6d467ba96638bdc99bb32capto Capt1387d6b4c9314f679f9725d6da60793afran These two photos (front and back) of a model catwalking for French fashion house Guy Laroche at their Spring-Summer 2007 ready to wear collection in Paris on Saturday (10/7) were one of the most emailed and most viewed pictures from Yahoo news on Sunday. And I don't think it was because of the pretty dress, but because the model looks absolutely horrific.

I mean really. How can this designer put a model this gaunt and sick looking on the runway ESPECIALLY amidst all the too-skinny model controversy at the moment. It's shocking. It's downright irresponsible.

Here's a blog post from fashion writer Jean Paul Cauvin who was at Paris fashion week, and his opinion on the too-skinny model mania. Here's a taste:

"This is when I came to think of the paradox fashion circles are now facing. With the search of idealized youth looks, we are all now mixing younger-looking and slimmer. But when you reach this level of slim, excuse me, you are starting more bones flesh and you look more like a mummy or a skeleton than a live woman."
