Fun stuff with Vista preso
On Saturday February 24, I gave a 45 minute preso at a Vista Party at one of our local colleges. In case one of you would like to duplicate my session or get ideas, here is what I did.
The slot was called, "Fun stuff with Vista". Here's the description:
"There are many geeky things you can do with Vista for work or for building your next start-up, but what about the fun non-work stuff that involves the Internet, TV, movies, and music. How about the stuff that your non-geek family and friends can enjoy? In this session, we’ll show you things that you can do with Vista Ultimate for blogging, livening up social gatherings, and using your computer to turn your living room, bedroom, or dorm room into an entertainment bonanza."
Here's the demos I did (in the following posts you will see actual clips)
- Tools for blogging
- Snipping tool demo
- Cheap and easy podcast using the Sound Recorder
- Create a movie in Movie Maker
- Managing your photos, music, and videos using Photo Gallery and Media Player
- A quick tour around Media Center
For the podcast, movie maker, and photos demos I used actual people in the class. I think it's more fun when the demos are interactive, and the audience gets to see examples with someone just like them. It's more personal and fun. I gave out trinkets to all the volunteers.
