Woo-hoo! It's our birthday...It's our birthday...We're gonna party, like it's our birthday!
Today is a special day indeed considering that one year in the blogosphere is like dog years. Whew! Writing for this blog for me, however, is effortless and fulfilling. I care very deeply about wanting to help others feel better just as they are in this fanatical, beauty obsessed world we live in.
The style and tone of BISJ has changed over the year. In the beginning, my posts were mostly rants about my own life and the world, and then as more people joined the conversation, I realized that I was not the only one who is fed up, frustrated, and homesick for a time when we can just be as good as we are. It's very easy to believe that no one else understands or can relate to your pain. Blogging has taught me how wrong I was. I have met some amazing, kind, and generous folks on this journey of mine here.
I thank everyone who comes to visit and enjoys Back in Skinny Jeans. All our welcome! And again, I say it a lot but will never stop, I am truly grateful for all my readers and visitors. It is a blessing and privilege for me to meet you all and to share laughs, tears, and joys! For nostalgia, I went up into the attic and pulled out some of the storage boxes. For the rest of the week, I will share some of the best posts from the beginning days of this blog. It's funny to re-read some of my rants. "Did I write that?"
Now, to celebrate our birthday, I'm off to enjoy a tasty Mandarin Cosmo and sing my favorite sappy, happy Beatles song: All you need is love....
