For dessert tonight, I used a recipe from The New Mayo Clinic Cookbook
.
Sauteed bananas with Caramel Sauce. I replaced bananas with Bosc pears. Bananas are super high in sugar, so I picked another fruit that isn't as high in sugar content. I also replaced the milk with rice milk. I'm avoiding milk with the exception of my Starbucks mochas....hmmm....
Lastly, this recipe called for raisins, but I replaced that with toasted walnuts. I love nuts, and thought the walnuts would cut down on all the sugary sensations between the fruit, honey, and brown sugar.
This dessert would have been even more amazing with vanilla bean ice cream, but we chose to skip the extra sugar and fat.
It's like you're on a msiison to save me time and money!
